Due to the cost of schooling in Mexico, many of the children did not have the opportunity to attend school
when they became of age. They are, therefore, several years behind in their education.
When these orphans reach the age of 18, they will be expected to earn a living to support themselves.
In order to do so decently, legally and successfully, they must have a basic education.
Future School
August 2002
The children have missed many weeks of school each year because at times there isn’t money to purchase fuel or make the necessary repairs to the school bus.
The elementary school principal has therefore agreed to set up a satellite school at the orphanage IF El Faro provides adequate classrooms and all necessary school supplies.
The plan is to convert the four room dormitory pictured above, into an elementary school. However, before that can happen, a second story must be added to an existing single story building, so the children’s sleeping quarters can be relocated.
A regional contractor has volunteered his labor, provided the building materials are supplied.
Money is desperately needed to purchase the building materials to complete the elementary school project.
Remember, 100% of the funds donated to the Kids International Foundation
directly benefit the children of El Faro Orphanage.
